DIY Hair Mask for Hair Growth and Hair Loss

This hair mask includes an egg, I know you may read egg and just shy away from it; I promise you when you’re finished mixing this mask it won’t smell like egg, it smells like banana or lavender. This mask is great for hair growth and hair loss.

I have been using an egg mask over the past years, but sometimes life gets busy and I forget about it. Since we are all in a pandemic I thought what better way to take advantage and do some self care.

I recommend using an egg mask each week if you really want healthy and long hair. It’s an old beauty treatment that works to fortify your hair roots and gives your hair follicles the nutrients it needs. It is a keratin treatment and has a powerhouse of nutrients with a balance of fatty acids and protein.

You will notice I put a second option with essential oils, that's because I tried the mask today again and decided to go with oils; and OMG I think I like this method even better. I was feeling a bit stressed and anxious today, after applying this mask and leaving it in, I felt so much better. Also there is a refreshing scent and cooling feeling on my scalp which I absolutely love.

I hope you try it, if you do leave your comments below and let me know what you think.

Ingredients:

1 egg

2 tbsp olive oil

2 tbsp lemon juice

½ banana

2 tbsp milk

OR

1 egg

2 tbsp olive oil

5 drops of lemon oil

5 drops of eucalyptus oil

5 drops of lavender oil

5 drops of jasmine oil

½ banana

Instructions:

  • Place all the ingredients in a bowl and puree it, apply mixture to your hair starting from the roots.

  • Leave the mask on for about 20 minutes or longer if you have time.

  • Wash your hair with shampoo, you can skip the condition as the mask already conditioned your hair.

NOTE: Never use hot water to rinse off an egg hair mask as it will cook the egg, always use cold water.

It can get messy so be careful, I use a spray bottle with bigger holes at the spout and it works great.

I find the first method has a lot more liquid as well.
